How delightful! From the mouths of babes and sucklings etc etc. (Incidentally and embarrassingly, Mr Byard, I seem to have addressed you on more than one occasion as Mr Boyard. I can only assume that I am muddling you up with M. Charles Boyer, the matinee idol, bon viveur and friend of Maurice Chevalier. I do apologise).Cordially etcPS Do watch your apostrophes.
Bon vivant, surely?
Ma chere Madame Pouncer,In my defence, I was transcribing my daughter's singing, and the apostrophe was clearly there when she sang it. I scolded her severely for it, of course. One must maintain standards.
There should be an apostrophe there - as it's a genitive - if there was any justice in the world of orthography. Your daughter is clearly better than all of us.
