THREE more songs in another style

The subtitle for this one is "Attack of the Lounge Lizards from Planet Easy Listening" - three worthy contenders for the title of 'best lush swing arrangement of an overly serious, teenage angst-ridden piece of pretentious drivel from a spotty, unwashed grunge or indie-band'.

First up, Paul Anka does Nirvana:

Next, Frank Bennett does Radiohead:

And finally, Mike Flowers does Oasis:

I haven't listened yet, but I love the Mike Flowers version of Wonderwall. And I remember when Paul Anka brought out his covers album...
I was a bit scared to come here earlier, but now I am quite pleased.

Right, I'm off to the apple store to download these tunes onto my iPod. Frank Bennett rocks. How fab was that?

Scarls - hope this makes up for the mental disconnect of the Transylvanian rockabilly! In fairness, I should point out that it was No Good Boyo who first introduced me to Frank Bennett...

Well thank you Mr Boyo! A man of taste.

Lush! You have to admire these guys (well, a little tiny bit) for giving it their all. Paul Anka is moving around nicely and looking very cheerful - maybe if poor Kurt Cobain had taken a leaf out of his book he'd still be with us today.

This is a reversal of the roles, in the old days it was the teenagers who took the piss out of their parents' music. It's SO UNFAIR!!!!

Oh, this is more like it. iPod download frenzy. Keep 'em coming, Gyppchen.

Gadjo - Nice to see Paul Anka still alive and moving, let alone cheerful! Cobain could've benefitted from a spell in the army, and certainly a haircut.

Daphne - even better, the teenagers who made fun of their parents' music have no grown up and are making fun of their children's music. Double bubble!

Mrs P - Many thanks. Rest assured I have barely started...
