Things that occur to me at 3am

If - in furtherance of its attempt to join the EU - Istanbul offers to harmonise it national holidays to include those celebrated by current EU members, could we get away with using the headline "TURKEY VOTES FOR CHRISTMAS"?

Lovely! You brightened my morning. A potential future awaits you as a Sun headline writer (one of my dream jobs).

The best they could manage yesterday was "Why Cameron is stuffed on Turkey":

Boom boom! Opponents could continue the Christmas theme with "And everybody still hates Brussels (sprouts)!"

This is journo genius! All I get at 3 am is President Yanukovych of Ukraine blundering around my dreamscape, knocking things over.

I'm hoping to work in something along the lines of "Istanbullox!" and "Not the Bos For Us!"

Mr Ndogo - As it is for many of us...

Gadjo - one of the most refreshing things about the blogosphere is the starting of pointless memes!

Boyo - And doubtless you will. Did we ever discover the identity of the sub-ed who used "Putin the boot" when referring to Chchnya?
